LUBOK ANTU: A foreign national was among two individuals arrested during ‘Ops Tapis Khas’ carried out here on Jan. 8 and 9 for suspected possession of methamphetamine.
Lubok Antu District Police Chief, DSP Pricha Azin, said the first arrest was made at about 10:00 pm on Jan. 8, when the IPD Lubok Antu Task Force detained a foreign man in his early 40s at the Riverine car park in Lubok Antu town.

“Checks found the suspect in possession of a transparent green-striped straw tube containing crystal substances believed to be methamphetamine, weighing an estimated 0.29 gramme,” he said in a statement today.
Pricha said a second arrest followed the next day at about 5:30 pm, when a local man in his late 30s was detained in front of a skills training centre along Jalan Lubok Antu.
“A search revealed a transparent blue straw tube containing crystal substances believed to be methamphetamine, with an estimated weight of 0.26 gramme,” he added.
Both cases are being investigated under Section 12(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
He said ‘Ops Tapis Khas’ will continue as part of efforts to curb drug abuse and maintain public safety and order in the district.
