BINTANGOR: Two people sustained minor injuries in a collision involving two vehicles along Jalan KJD, Meradong, here this afternoon.
Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (BOMBA) received an alert regarding an accident at 12:56 pm, and firefighters from Bintangor fire station were dispatched to the scene.
They arrived at the location at 1:08 pm, about 12 kilometres from the station.
“The operations commander reported that a victim from the multipurpose vehicle (MPV) had been extricated by members of the public and taken directly to hospital before firefighters arrived.
“There were four people travelling in the compact vehicle, with two still inside the vehicle but not trapped.
“The other two had already been assisted out by members of the public.
“Firefighters safely moved the two remaining occupants from the vehicle using stretchers and provided initial treatment at the scene,” it said.
Both victims from the compact vehicle sustained minor injuries, and they were subsequently transported to Sarikei Hospital by ambulances.
The status and details of the victim from the MPV were not available.
The situation was declared under control at 1:35 pm, and the operations ended at 1:38 pm after firefighters ensured the scene was safe.
