SRI AMAN: Two tenants were left with nothing but the clothes on their backs after a fire destroyed their home at Kampung STC, Jalan Rambutan today (June 16).

The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said in a statement they received an emergency call at 11.53 am before dispatching personnel from the Sri Aman Fire Station to the scene, located 3km away.

“Upon arrival, it was found that the fire involved a wooden house that was completely destroyed.

“The fire also affected a Mercedes vehicle, which sustained damage to its front section,” it said.

Fortunately, both occupants, a man and a woman, managed to escape unharmed, and no casualties were reported.

“After confirming that the fire was fully extinguished and the situation was safe, the operation ended at 1.40 pm,” it added.

The cause of the fire and the estimated losses are still under investigation.
