BAU: Two local men were nabbed by police in broad daylight on Friday (Feb 13) after they were believed to be involved in drug abuse activities.
Bau District Police Chief, P/Supt Mohd Haide A Rahman, said the two suspects, aged 24 and 31, were apprehended by the district’s Narcotics Crime Investigation Department .
“On Feb 13, the narcotics team was on duty for ‘Ops Angkasa’. At 12.30 pm, the team arrested the two suspects who were believed to be involved in drug abuse activities.
“Urine tests were conducted on the two suspects and they tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said in a statement.
The suspects admitted to having taken drugs four days prior to their arrest.
Both suspects are being investigated under Section 15(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
