KUCHING: Two local men were apprehended by the police for allegedly causing damage to a vehicle in Taman Pangol Jaya, Jalan Lapangan Terbang Baru recently.
Kuching police chief ACP Ahsmon Bajah said that the losses incurred from the damages amounted to around RM3,850.
The suspects, aged 33 and 42, were apprehended by the Criminal Investigation Division (CID) at Jalan Stapok Utama, Batu Kawa yesterday (Feb 17).
“Background checks found that both suspects had prior records related to drugs and other crimes.
“They also tested positive for amphetamine and methamphetamine,” he said.
Ahsmon mentioned that the police will seek remand orders for the suspects at the Magistrate’s Court to facilitate investigations.
The case is being investigated under Section 427 of the Penal Code for committing mischief and causing loss or damage to a property.
If convicted, it carries a prison sentence for a term up to five years, or a fine, or both.
