SIBU: Two luxury cars were the focus of Special Christmas Ops 2025 and Ops Luxury when both were seized by the Road Transport Department (JPJ) Sibu for using expired road tax.
The stern action was taken in an enforcement operation carried out around Sibu town, as part of JPJ’s ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with traffic laws, especially involving private vehicles and luxury vehicles.
The operation was led by the Head of the Sibu JPJ Enforcement Division, Ariffin Zaini, with the support of members of the Sibu JPJ Operations Unit.
The inspection was carried out comprehensively through patrols and blockades at several identified strategic locations.
According to a statement uploaded by the State JPJ on social media on Wednesday, a total of 123 vehicles of various categories were inspected during the operation.
“The inspection results found that two luxury vehicles failed to comply with regulations relating to road tax, thus leading to seizure action in accordance with existing laws,” the statement said.
JPJ Sibu stressed that operations like this will continue to be carried out regularly to educate and remind road users to always obey the rules, to ensure safety, and traffic order in urban areas.
