KANOWIT: Police arrested two men believed to be involved in a shooting at Majau-Kanowit-Song junction last Sunday (August 24).
Kanowit Police Chief, DSP Junical Ujal, said a report was received at 8:30 pm on a man who had been targeted by gunfire.
Fortunately, the victim escaped unharmed, while the suspect fled the scene in a vehicle believed to be a Toyota.
“Police quickly tracked the vehicle and found its burnt-out frame along Jalan Penyulau, believed to have been set on fire by the suspect.
“Acting on information, we managed to arrest two men at separate locations – one identified as the vehicle owner, and the other suspected of being involved in the shooting,” he said.
Junical added that the case is being taken seriously and urged the public not to speculate on the incident.
