KUCHING: Two temporary evacuation centres (PPS) have been opened here following flooding in several areas today.
The State Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) said that PPS Dewan R-Piang in Kampung Sinar Budi was opened at 11.45 am.
As of 3 pm today, the centre was sheltering 38 evacuees from seven families.
Another evacuation centre, PPS Dewan Stapok, was opened at 1.30 pm, with the number of evacuees still being updated.
The evacuation trend is reported to be increasing.
