KUCHING: Two Rural Transformation Project (RTP) road upgrading initiatives in Kota Sentosa constituency have been completed.
Kota Sentosa assemblyman Wilfred Yap carried out final inspections on the completed projects together with officers from the Padawan Municipal Council (MPP), expressing satisfaction with the quality and impact of the works.
The first project involved upgrading works at Lorong 8, Jalan Semaba, carried out with an allocation of RM30,000. The improvements have enhanced road surface conditions, boosted safety and provided smoother access for residents living along the stretch.
Although modest in scale, Yap said the upgrade delivers meaningful benefits to residents by improving daily mobility and comfort.
He emphasised that small-scale, targeted infrastructure works remain crucial in addressing real grassroots needs at neighbourhood level.
In a separate visit, Yap also inspected the fully completed RTP road upgrading project at Kampung Temedak, which was implemented at a cost of RM40,000.
He said the upgraded road will enhance accessibility and road safety for villagers and expressed appreciation to the local community for their cooperation and constructive feedback throughout the implementation process.
Yap reaffirmed that the GPS-led Sarawak Government remains strongly committed to delivering infrastructure projects that respond directly to the needs of the people.
“I will continue to work closely with Majlis Perbandaran Padawan to ensure that all approved projects in Kota Sentosa are implemented efficiently, completed on schedule and meet the required quality standards,” he said.
He added that ongoing engagement with residents will continue to guide future development priorities in the constituency.
