MIRI: A fire destroyed two stalls at Pasar Lapok Tinjang here early morning today (Dec 26).
The Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received an emergency call at about 4.38 am.
Firefighters from the Lopeng Station were dispatched to the scene.
“Upon arrival, the fire was found to have destroyed a row of two non-permanent stalls measuring about 20 by 50 feet.
“Firefighting operations were carried out using an auxiliary hose line and a nozzle, with water sourced from the fire engine,” the department said in a statement.

The blaze was successfully brought under control and fully extinguished, with overhaul works conducted to ensure there were no remaining fire risks.
A total of eight personnel were involved in the operation, using one fire rescue tender (FRT) and one emergency medical rescue services (EMRS) vehicle.
No casualties were reported, and firefighters later returned to their station after the situation was confirmed to be safe.
