SIBU: The police issued 26 summonses to motorcyclists for various traffic offences during the ‘Op Samseng Jalanan’, which was conducted at Taman Permai, Jalan Bujang Suntong and Jalan Ramli Amit from 5 pm to 3 am on Saturday night.
Local police chief ACP Zulkipli Suhaili said two teenagers, both aged 18, were arrested for committing offences under Section 42 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
“The operation involved checks on eight local men.
“A total of 26 summonses were issued for various offences, including driving without a licence, vehicle modifications, modified exhausts, missing side mirrors, fancy licence plates, no licence plates, expired vehicles registrations and incomplete vehicle accessories,” he said in a statement today (Nov 30).
Additionally, Zulkipli said five motorcycles were impounded for documentation purposes.
He advised the public to comply with the traffic laws.
“Parents are encouraged to monitor their children’s activities to prevent involvement in illegal activities,” he said.
