SERIAN: Two vehicles were seized and 35 compliance notices issued during an enforcement operation at the Serian Road Transport Department (RTD) Enforcement Station yesterday (Aug 25).
Part of ‘Op Pengarah’, the operation targeted motorists flouting road regulations in an effort to boost road safety and discipline ahead of the Merdeka celebration.
Sarawak RTD said a total of 105 vehicles underwent thorough inspections during the operation.
Two vehicles were impounded for expired road tax and lack of insurance, while 35 non-compliance notices were issued for various offences.
The department stated that they would maintain strict enforcement through regular operations as there is no compromise on road safety and compliance.
These efforts reflect the department’s commitment to educate the public and uphold the law to ensure safer roads for all.
Also present to oversee the operation were Sarawak RTD deputy director Nor Azlan Ibrahim, Sarawak RTD Operations section head Saifullah Ali, Serian RTD branch chief Hillary Bong, and Serian RTD Enforcement station chief Juti Dungau, who also provided moral support to on-duty personnel.
