KUALA LUMPUR: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar attended the 268th Conference of Rulers Meeting, which commenced today (Feb 5) at Istana Negara here.
In a statement posted on Wan Junaidi’s official Facebook page, it said that the meeting was also attended by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan.
The meeting was chaired by His Royal Highness Tuanku Al-Aminul Karim Sultan Sallehuddin Ibni Almarhum Sultan Badlishah, the Sultan of Kedah Darul Aman.
One of the main agendas discussed in the meeting was a security briefing by the Inspector-General of Police and the Chief of the Malaysian Armed Forces, followed by the official deliberations of the Conference of Rulers.
The meeting was also attended by Their Royal Highnesses the Malay Rulers, Their Excellencies the Governors, as well as Chief Ministers from across the country.
After the meeting, Wan Junaidi expressed his hope that the royal institution would continue to serve as the pillar of national sovereignty, strengthening stability and harmony among the people.
“I also hope that every decision made would enhance national governance, bringing lasting progress and benefits to religion, race, and the nation,” he said.
