LUNDU: A journey to attend a wedding in Kampung Rambungan today (Sept 19) saw Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar making a brief stop to view the progress of the Rambungan Bridge.
Accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, Wan Junaidi took the opportunity to get a closer look at the ongoing construction.
According to a statement from Astana Negeri Sarawak, Wan Junaidi welcomed the development of road and bridge infrastructure as an important part of improving connectivity, particularly in Sarawak’s rural and coastal areas.
He said better connectivity would not only make travel easier but also improve access to economic opportunities, education and services.
Such infrastructure, he said, could help stimulate socioeconomic activities and create further development opportunities for surrounding communities.
Wan Junaidi hoped work on the bridge would progress smoothly and be completed according to schedule, allowing local communities and road users to benefit from the improved connection.
The Rambungan Bridge is part of ongoing efforts to strengthen connectivity and improve infrastructure serving communities in the area.
