KUCHING: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud received yesterday morning two courtesy calls at his residence in Demak Jaya.
The first was from the Keeper of the Rulers Seal led by Prime Minister’s Department principal deputy secretary-general Datuk Hasnol Zam Zam Ahmad on behalf of the federal government.
The visit was to invite Taib to the installation ceremony of the 16th Yang di-Pertuan Agong to be held at the Istana Negara on July 30.
Later, he received a courtesy call from the state Federal Secretary Mohd Shahabuddin Omar.

The visit was the first by Mohd Shahabuddin after he was appointed as the 16th state Federal Secretary on May 17, replacing Datuk Mansor Man who had his mandatory retirement on May 12.
Prior to his new appointment, he was the Malaysian Administrative Modernisation and Management Planning (Mampu) deputy director general (Modern Administration and Transformation) in the Prime Minister’s Department in Putrajaya. From Gurun, Kedah, Mohd Shahbuddin had also served in Sarawak as Mampu Sarawak branch director.
