TYT, wife graces Malaysia Day thanksgiving in Bintulu

BINTULU: Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, has graced the Malaysia Day 2025 Thanksgiving Ceremony at Assyakirin Mosque here last night (Sept 15).

The ceremony began with Maghrib prayers in congregation, followed by the recitation of Surah Yassin led by the State Grand Imam Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.

It continued with Zikir Marhaban performed by the Bintulu District Zikir Group Association before a thanksgiving prayer was recited by the State Grand Imam.

The programme concluded with Isyak prayers in congregation and a dinner reception.

A day earlier, the Interfaith Thanksgiving Ceremony organised by the Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) was held as part of the lead-up to the Malaysia Day 2025 celebrations.

The multi-faith thanksgiving event was among the highlights of the celebrations in Bintulu, alongside the Malaysia Day Run, the Malaysia Day Assembly and the People’s Concert.

The peak of the celebrations, comprising the Malaysia Day Assembly and People’s Concert, is scheduled to take place at the Old Bintulu Airport (Lasar Kenyalang).

Also present were State Legislative Assembly (DUN) Speaker Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts Minister Datuk Seri Abdul Karim Rahman Hamzah, and about 500 congregants.
