KUCHING: The Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism Management (FHTM), UCSI University Sarawak Campus, celebrated academic excellence at its Dean’s List Awards 2026, themed ‘GlowGala: Neon Party Vibes’, held at UCSI Hotel, Wednesday night (Feb 11).

A total of 71 students received the Dean’s List Award, representing postgraduate, undergraduate and diploma programmes across hospitality, culinary arts, tourism, leisure and event management disciplines.

“The Dean’s List Award recognises not only academic excellence, but also discipline, resilience and consistency in performance,” said FHTM’s Dean, Associate Professor Christopher Wan Sageng.

“We are proud of our students who have demonstrated outstanding commitment to their studies. Their achievement reflects personal dedication and the strong academic culture upheld by the faculty.”

The event brought together university management, faculty members, students, alumni and industry partners, creating a meaningful platform to honour high-performing students and strengthen professional networks.

Awards were presented to students from the Master in International Hospitality Management programme and various bachelor’s and diploma programmes within the faculty, reflecting a broad spectrum of academic accomplishment.

Beyond student recognition, the event featured Outstanding Industrial Partner Awards and Outstanding Alumni Awards, acknowledging collaborators who have contributed significantly to academic enrichment and industry engagement.

“These partnerships remain essential in preparing our students for real-world challenges and ensuring our curriculum stays relevant to evolving industry standards,” said Christopher during the event.

The evening programme included lecturer appreciation presentations, live student performances, and interactive engagement sessions, adding vibrancy while maintaining the prestige and formality of the occasion.

A key highlight was the presentation of the Aurora Excellence Award to an exemplary student, conferred by the Pro Vice-Chancellor in recognition of exceptional academic and personal achievement.
