GEDONG: The Program Bakti Madani organised by Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Sarawak Branch reflects the university’s mission to nurture well-rounded individuals and empower progressive communities.
Special representative of the Sarawak Premier, Datuk Seri Mohd Naroden Majais, said initiatives such as this not only produce academically excellent students but also build human intellectual capacity that serves as problem solvers and innovators for various community issues.
“Programmes like this align with the aspirations and direction of the Ministry of Higher Education (KPT), which emphasises the holistic development of students’ talents through learning, practice, and experiences beyond the classroom,” he said.
He said this during the closing of the Program Bakti Madani UiTM Sarawak Branch, held at Dewan Datuk Patinggi Ali, here, on Sunday.
He added that the Knowledge Sharing and Transfer Programme (KSTP) approach incorporated in the programme is highly consistent with the Knowledge Transfer Programme (KTP) policy, which encourages knowledge sharing between universities, industries, and local communities.
Meanwhile, the Rector of UiTM Sarawak Branch, Professor Dr. Firdaus Abdullah, said the programme combines the concepts of foster families and community service in a strategic manner, making it a unique platform for students to apply their knowledge practically in the real-life context of society.
“UiTM Sarawak Branch is committed to expanding strategic collaborations with government agencies, industries, and communities to ensure students are not only job-ready but also life-ready,” he said.
