KUCHING: UiTM Cawangan Sarawak will host the ‘Rev It Up! 2025 E-Sports Carnival’ on December 12-13 at its Samarahan 2 campus near here.
The inter-varsity event, open exclusively to students from public and private higher learning institutions across the state, is supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports (KBS) and Esports Integrated (ESI).
The carnival will feature four competitive titles, namely PUBG Mobile, Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), EAFC 26, and Sim Racing Time Attack, with a total prize pool of RM3,500.
In a statement, the organisers said the tournament will provide a professionally managed platform for young e-sports athletes to sharpen their competitive edge while representing their institutions.
In addition to the tournament, the two-day programme includes an E-Sports Management Workshop and an E-Sports Exhibition, aimed at equipping students with industry knowledge, tactical insight, and exposure to emerging trends in the digital sports sector.
UiTM Sarawak said the initiative is part of its broader mission to nurture new talent and expand Sarawak’s capacity in digital innovation-driven youth development.
Registration and workshop sessions will be held on the first day of the event before the preliminary rounds for all game categories, followed by additional preliminaries, leading to the grand finals and the official closing ceremony on the second day.
UiTM Sarawak expects the event to advance e-sports in the state significantly, positioning the university as a key driver of digital talent development and competitive gaming within the higher education landscape.
