KUCHING: United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) Malaysia paid a courtesy visit to the offices of Sarawak Tribune and Suara Sarawak (STSS) today, aiming to strengthen ties and explore potential collaborations in promoting child rights and advocacy in the state.

The delegation was led by UNICEF Malaysia Chief of Communication, Niko Manos Wieland, accompanied by Communication Specialist (Advocacy and Media), Gaya Velayutham; Communication Officer, Meena Sundramohana; and Corporate Communication Partner with Rashomon PR (Borneo) Sdn Bhd, Azreen Mohamad.

During the visit, the UNICEF team engaged in in-depth discussions with Sarawak Tribune Editor-in-Chief, Aden Nagrace, and other senior staff, exchanging insights on media strategies and collaborative initiatives that could amplify child-focused programmes and awareness campaigns across Sarawak.

Recognising the importance of consistent outreach, Aden offered UNICEF Malaysia a designated column in Sarawak Tribune.

The platform will allow the organisation to regularly share updates about its initiatives, programmes, and work impacting children in the state, ensuring the community stays informed about ongoing efforts to safeguard and promote child rights.

“We are always open to initiatives that align with our mission to inform, educate, and advocate for the community. Collaborating with UNICEF Malaysia provides a strong platform to highlight critical child-related issues and initiatives,” he said.
