GEDONG: Unit for Other Religions (UNIFOR) funds portrays the government’s efforts to preserve religious harmony and strengthen relationships between communities in the Gedong state constituency.

Batang Sadong MP Rodiyah Sapiee hoped the allocated funds would be fully utilised for the needs of the local community.

“This funding demonstrates the government’s commitment to ensure all religions in the country receive due attention and appropriate assistance.

“We hope it will improve the quality of facilities of houses of worship in this area,” she said during the handover of the funds at Kampung Keniong Jaya on Saturday (Dec 21).

Three churches in Gedong received funds totalling RM350,000 under phase four of the UNIFOR.

The funds were allocated to the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church Keniong Jaya, Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) Church Semalatong, and BEM Church Kampung Spaoh, Gedong.

The assistance aims to upgrade, repair, or rebuild facilities according to the needs of each church.
