KOTA SAMARAHAN: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has made history as the first public university in the country to establish a Digital Experience Hub in collaboration with Google for Education.
Officially launched today, the UNIMAS Digital Experience Hub is housed at the Tun Abdul Rahman Ya’kub Library (PeTARY) and marks a significant step in the university’s digital transformation journey.
“The initiative focuses on three key components designed to benefit not only the university community but also the public, with far-reaching national and global impact,” UNIMAS said in a statement.
The first component, the Digital Experience Hub, aims to deliver impactful training modules and certifications for UNIMAS staff and students as well as the wider community, positioning the university as a Google Reference University in the region.
The second component, Grab-and-Go Chrome, offers enhanced accessibility to the Google ecosystem with scalable and flexible solutions for the growing student population, particularly those from the B40 income group.
The third component, the Digital Solutions Space, showcases UNIMAS’ innovations and solutions in digital technology, including artificial intelligence (AI) applications that support Sarawak’s digital economy agenda as well as national and international initiatives.
“This hub will strengthen UNIMAS’ position as a digitally progressive institution, enhance the learning experience, build competencies, and create a meaningful impact for the wider community,” the statement added.
