KUCHING: Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) has launched its first-ever learning centre in China.
The UNIMAS-KDGX Learning Centre in Xi’an is the result of a strategic collaboration between UNIMAS and Xi’an Kedagaoxin University (KDGX), reflecting a shared commitment to offering UNIMAS academic programmes in China.
UNIMAS Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit, said this partnership signifies its growing global footprint and its commitment to delivering quality education beyond Malaysian borders.
“The establishment of this learning centre in China is a strategic step forward in our internationalisation agenda.
“It paves the way for greater academic exchange, research collaboration, and cultural understanding between our nations,” he said in a statement today.
He expressed deep appreciation for the efforts and vision that brought this initiative to fruition.
“We are honoured and delighted to witness the establishment of the UNIMAS-KGDX Learning Centre, a testament to our mutual commitment to global education and academic excellence.
“Our heartfelt thanks go to KDGX University Chairman, Dr Sun Longjie, for his unwavering support in realising this strategic collaboration,” he added.
The launch ceremony was graced by key representatives from both institutions.
As part of the event, conditional offer letters were presented to the first cohort of 14 undergraduate and postgraduate students from KDGX, marking the symbolic beginning of their academic journey with UNIMAS.
