SAMARAHAN: Professor Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit officially reported for duty as the seventh Vice Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), today (Jan 8).
He clocked-in at the UNIMAS Vice-Chancellor’s Office here at 7.55 am marking the start of his duties.
The historic moment was shared by UNIMAS through its Facebook post wishing Ahmad Hata the best of luck and hoping that the university will continue to progress under his guidance.
Also present during the clock-in ceremony were UNIMAS Board of Directors chairman Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie; deputy Vice Chancellor (Student and Alumni Affairs) Professor Dr Al-Khalid Othman; and other staff members.
Ahmad Hata, 54, who was previously the deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and International) at UNIMAS, was appointed to the new position for a period of three years, until January 7, 2027.
He replaces Datuk Professor Dr Mohamad Kadim Suaidi.
