This year’s event was made even more meaningful with the presence of Head of State Tun Pehin Sri Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, who is also the chancellor of Unimas, together with his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi.
Also present were Sheikh Madhani Datuk Paduka Sheikh Abdul Ghani, Consul General of Brunei Darussalam; Prof Ir Ts r Al-Khalid Othman, deputy vice-chancellor (Student Affairs and Alumni); Prof Ir Dr Siti Noor Linda Taib, deputy vice-chancellor (Research and Innovation); and Prof Dr Fitri Suraya Mohammad Hapeni Jobli, assistant vice-chancellor (Academic and International).
Their arrival was received by Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie, chairman of the Unimas Board of Directors; Prof Dr Ahmad Hata Rasit, vice-chancellor of Unimas, and his wife Prof Dr Ramlah Zainudin; members of the board, university management, and the entire campus community.
According to Prof Ahmad Hata, in honour of Malaysia’s role as host for this year’s Asian-level celebration, the event adopted the Nusantara theme, symbolising cultural diversity and unity among the peoples of the Indo-Malay Archipelago.
“This year’s Ramah Tamah Programme is themed Unimas Raya Nusantara.
“As Malaysia is the Asian host, we’ve chosen this theme to reflect the interconnectedness of our region, but what makes it more special this year is the Head of State’s presence, and it elevated the celebration.

“Unimas is indeed honoured today by the presence of the Head of State, who has kindly made time to join us.
“Their presence is significant to the entire university community,” he said.
As part of the celebration, Wan Junaidi and Fauziah toured the Aidilfitri booths and food stalls, which were creatively decorated by various faculties and departments at Unimas.
