SRI AMAN: Four university students have turned volunteering at the Sarawak Games (SUKSAR) IV into a celebration of sport, diversity and state pride, bringing energy and camaraderie to the competitions.
Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) students Morlly Laong Sherlys Tom, Nadia Nazifa Syahrul Majid, Cynthia Goustan and Esther Maximilliana Law joined the Games as volunteers, helping ensure events ran smoothly while engaging with athletes and fans alike.
Morlly, an Iban who also volunteered during the 2024 Malaysia Games (SUKMA), said being part of the basketball competition was both meaningful and rewarding.
“I am happy because I can volunteer for the second time and see the athletes compete for Sarawak,” she told Sarawak Tribune.

Nadia Nazifa, who assisted with table tennis, said the matches were intense, with players displaying remarkable skill and determination.
“The ping-pong matches were a thrill to match, as I watched their talent on display and gave everything they had,”she said.
Cynthia Goustan and Esther Maximilliana Law added a colourful touch to SUKSAR IV, reflecting the multicultural spirit of the Games.
Their presence and attire symbolised how youths from different communities come together to support sport, unity and Sarawak’s pride.
