DARO: The spirit of unity and harmony among Sarawak’s multi-ethnic communities must continue to be nurtured as a cornerstone for the well-being of the people and inclusive state development.
Daro assemblyman Dr Safiee Ahmad said the state’s uniqueness lies in its people’s ability to live together respectfully, regardless of religion or ethnicity.
“The unity shown by the local community today is truly commendable and should be preserved. This is Sarawak’s strength, which must continue to be empowered for the benefit of all,” he said at the 2025 Pre-Christmas Celebration held at Rumah Lawrence Siru, Nangar Kecil on Saturday.
Safiee also expressed his gratitude to the community for their cooperation, noting that it transcended religious and ethnic backgrounds.
During the event, he witnessed the handover of the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) project for the reconstruction of Tadika Sungai Budok in Daro, valued at RM130,000, from the Daro Public Works Department (PWD) to Syarikat Bawang Hadiew.

He also presented RM11,000 in funding to the Rumah Lawrence Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK), the KEMAS Matu Daro Members Welfare Committee, and the Fearless Mixed Martial Arts Club to support welfare, community and youth development programmes.
Safiee also witnessed the symbolic handover of 50 SABERKAS Prihatin food baskets as part of the Christmas 2025 celebration to help ease the burden of underprivileged families.
