BINTULU: Residents of Kampung Warisan Jepak have been urged to continue strengthening unity and to work together in advancing the village’s development agenda to ensure sustained harmony and progress.
Azman Abdul Rahman, Special Officer to Bintulu MP Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing, said that unity among residents and strong grassroots leadership are crucial for the success and long-term sustainability of a village, especially one that has already reached a notable level of development.
“Once a village has developed, the real challenge is to ensure unity among residents is maintained.
“Residents of Kampung Warisan Jepak must remain united, be understanding of one another and work hand in hand so that all development plans can be implemented smoothly,” he said at the closing ceremony of the Kampung Warisan Jepak Family Day and Sports Carnival held at the village futsal court on Saturday (Dec 27).
He stressed that many villages failed to sustain development momentum not because of a lack of facilities or funding, but due to internal divisions and disputes that weakened cooperation within the community.
Azman also noted that Kampung Warisan Jepak is now among the better-developed villages in the Bintulu area, with a well-organised housing layout and a tidy environment, reflecting close cooperation between village leadership and residents.
He added that Tiong consistently provided strong support for efforts to strengthen community unity and grassroots development, in line with the government’s aspiration to build a united, progressive and prosperous society.
The Kampung Warisan Jepak Family Day and Sports Carnival 2025, themed “Kampungku, Keluargaku” (My Village, My Family), served as an important platform to strengthen ties, foster a sense of belonging and reinforce unity among residents of all age groups.
