MUKAH: Thousands from diverse backgrounds gathered at MRSM Mukah on Sunday for the Lau Rayak P213 Mukah celebration, reflecting Sarawak’s strong spirit of unity and harmony.
Deputy Health Minister and Mukah MP Datuk Hanifah Hajar Taib said the annual event serves not only as a festive celebration but also as an important platform to strengthen inter-ethnic ties and foster togetherness among the people.
“Events like this provide opportunities for communities to gather, interact and get to know one another in a relaxed setting, further reinforcing the harmony that forms the foundation of Sarawak’s strength.
“We will continue to ensure this programme remains inclusive and open to everyone regardless of background, as practised every year,” she told reporters after the event.
Also present were Balingian assemblyman Abdul Yakub Arbi and Tellian assemblyman Royston Valentine, who joined in engaging with members of the local community.
Hanifah also expressed appreciation to elected representatives, government agencies and village community committees for their cooperation in ensuring the success of the celebration.
She further reminded the public to take care of their health during the festive season by staying hydrated and maintaining balanced eating habits to avoid health risks.
Among those present were Mukah Division Resident Datuk Kueh Lei Poh and Mukah district officer Peleadzman Ahip.
