KUCHING: All electricity account holders in Sarawak are urged to update their personal or business information to comply with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia’s (LHDN) electronic invoicing (e-Invoice) requirements, which will take effect from Jan 1, 2026.

Syarikat SESCO Berhad (SESCO), Sarawak Energy’s utility arm, said the move is necessary to ensure the accurate issuance of e-Invoices and to prevent potential disruptions in billing.

“Customers are advised to update their accounts promptly to avoid delays in invoice delivery and maintain billing accuracy,” it said in a statement.

To facilitate the update, customers may use the SEB Cares mobile app or web portal under “Subscription of Services – e-Invoice Registration” at https://sebcares.sarawakenergy.com/SEBCares/EInvoiceRegistration

Customers who prefer in-person assistance or businesses with multiple contract accounts may visit the nearest Sarawak Energy Customer Service Counter. Support is also available via email at customercare@sarawakenergy.com

For individual accounts, the required details include full name, identification number (IC for Malaysians or passport number and expiry date for non-Malaysians), Tax Identification Number (TIN), email address, and mobile number.

Business accounts must provide registered business name, Business Registration Number (BRN), TIN, email address, and mobile number, along with supporting documents for verification.

SESCO said the initiative is part of efforts to enhance billing efficiency, accuracy, and support the government’s digital compliance agenda.

Customers who update their details will benefit from timely and accurate invoices, better transparency of billing records, and readiness for future tax reporting and audits.

Those who fail to update their information may face delays or disruptions in invoice delivery and billing accuracy.

For further assistance, customers may contact the Customer Care Centre at 1300-88-3111, email customercare@sarawakenergy.com, or access support through the SEB Cares platform. CARINA, Sarawak Energy’s virtual assistant, is also available to guide customers through the update process.
