KUCHING: The Astana Sarawak building upgrading project has reached 70 per cent completion and is progressing according to schedule, with full completion expected before the Hari Raya Aidilfitri celebrations.
Senior private secretary to the Head of State Datuk Seri Syed Hamzah Syed Paie conducted a site visit yesterday (Feb 4) to review the project’s progress and implementation status.
The site visit was also attended by Senior Assistant Director of the Sarawak Public Works Department (PWD) Mohammad Saifrol Sheikh Naimullah, along with senior officers from the Office of the Head of State, among others.
During the visit, Syed Hamzah was briefed on the current status of the project, including the scope of upgrading works, construction progress, as well as technical and safety aspects at the site.
Discussions were also held to ensure all components of the project were being implemented in line with approved plans, specifications and the agreed timeline.
The visit is aimed at ensuring smooth project execution while assessing the readiness of the implementing team to complete the upgrading works in accordance with the required standards and quality.
