KUCHING: Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) Bintulu Campus aims to strengthen its bilateral cooperation with the Sarawak Public Communications Unit (UKAS) through strategic collaborations that benefit both parties.
Its Deputy Director at the Centre for Strategy and Corporate Relations, Siti Rajanah Abdul Aziz, said UKAS has been a key strategic partner in promoting the university’s various programmes, particularly those involving community engagement.
She explained that their courtesy visit aimed to discuss opportunities for collaboration, especially in promoting community networking activities organised by their Faculty of Humanities, Management and Science.
Apart from that, they want to explore new avenues for partnership in strengthening community programmes across the state.
“This collaboration is expected to further enhance the relationship between the university and government agencies in our shared goal of developing and empowering communities in Sarawak,” she said.
Siti Rajanah led the campus delegation during a courtesy visit to UKAS Director, Awang Putrayusrie Awang Redzuan, today.
During the meeting, Awang Putrayusrie proposed that both parties formalise their collaboration by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen their joint efforts.
He said that the MoU would pave the way for closer cooperation in various initiatives that would ultimately benefit both institutions, particularly in the development of human capital in Sarawak.
He also suggested that the MoU signing ceremony be held in conjunction with the campus’ iRandau 2025 programme, scheduled to take place from July 2 to 4 at Sungai Asap, Belaga.
