BINTULU: Efforts to reinforce strategic networks between institutions of higher learning were further enhanced yesterday, as the Faculty of Agricultural and Forestry Sciences, Universiti Putra Malaysia Bintulu Campus (UPMKB), received a courtesy visit from a delegation from the Faculty of Bioengineering and Technology, Universiti Malaysia Kelantan (UMK).

The UMK delegation was led by Associate Professor, Dr Mohamad Najmi Masri, accompanied by Dr Boon Jia Geng, with the aim of discussing the potential for academic and research collaboration with UPMKB.

The discussion focused on the exchange of ideas and experiences in teaching innovation, curriculum design, and initiatives to strengthen student support.

Both faculties also aligned their respective initiatives with the universities’ aspirations in the areas of sustainability, digitalisation, and micro-credential development.

According to a joint statement, both parties also explored the organisation of joint seminars and workshops, as well as the implementation of high-impact cross-university academic programmes.

This move is seen as a significant step towards building a sustainable partnership between UPMKB and UMK, ultimately contributing to the overall strengthening of the nation’s higher education ecosystem.
