SARIKEI: A used cooking oil buy-back campaign organised by Timuran Kembangan Sdn Bhd received an overwhelming response during the Car Free Morning programme here, with hundreds of residents exchanging their waste oil for cash.

Held at the Sarikei Civic Centre parking lot on Saturday (June 14), the event drew large crowds from various communities.

Timuran Kembangan managing director Johnny Ting Su King expressed his excitement over the strong public turnout.

“This campaign is hoped to be a catalyst for driving positive environmental change, making our surroundings better and more dynamic,” he said.

Earlier, he also expressed his gratitude to Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Sustainability Datuk Seri Huang Tiong Sii for his support.

“We would like to extend our sincere thanks for the opportunity to take part in this programme.

“It supports the goals of sustainable development while fulfilling our social responsibility and contributing to environmental sustainability,” Ting added.
