SIBU: To usher in the year 2026, Progressive Democratic Party (PDP) Dudong Service Centre will bring yet another memorable festive experience to the community.

‘Towards 2026: Explore Sibu, Experience Malaysia’ Countdown Carnival will be held at Sibu Jaya Azman Hashim Community Sports Centre, from December 19 to 31.

The 13-day celebration will feature a variety of food stalls, creative product vendors, family activities, and cultural performances, culminating in a grand New Year’s Eve countdown on December 31 with performances by local and invited artistes, followed by a spectacular firework display to welcome the new year.

According to a press release from PDP Dudong Service Centre, the carnival aims to bring the community together, promote local economic and tourism growth and provide a safe and joyful year-end celebration for residents.

“We are inviting vendors, hawkers, food traders and local product entrepreneurs to join this exciting year-end event. The operation hours of their booths will be from 5:00 pm onwards daily.

“Booth locations will be allocated via a draw at 2:00 pm on November 28 (Friday) at PDP Dudong Service Centre.

“Interested vendors may obtain application forms from the organising committee or visit the service centre to register,” the press release stated, adding that limited slots were available based on a ‘first come, first service’ basis.
