SIBU: The University of Technology Sarawak (UTS) Toastmasters Club is set to host its eagerly anticipated Spring Flower Festival on Apr24 and 25 at the UTS campus.
The event will run daily from 5 pm to 10.30 pm, offering a vibrant blend of local crafts, food, and entertainment.
This year’s festival promises to build on the success of last year’s Christmas Market, with a fresh new concept aimed at promoting creativity and fostering stronger community engagement.
The festival’s grand opening will take place on Apr 24 at 5.30 pm, with Councillor Kevin Lau from the Sibu Rural District Council (SRDC) officiating the ceremony.
According to Marieanne Landi Gat, the organising chairperson, the festival aims to provide an exciting and engaging experience for visitors.
“We wanted to create something new and exciting this year, while continuing to promote creativity and community involvement,” said Marieanne.
“The Spring Flower Festival is not only an opportunity to raise funds for the club but also to encourage collaboration among students.”
The festival will showcase a diverse range of locally crafted goods, delicious food and beverages, and engaging activities, with highlights including table topics contests, karaoke, a movie night, live band performances, and a children’s colouring contest.
Tickets for the Christmas-themed movie night are available for RM5 each, and the first 100 visitors each day will receive complimentary gift packs.
The UTS Toastmasters Club invites the public to attend the festival and support local craftsmanship and talent.
