KUCHING: Universiti Utara Malaysia’s (UUM) Sarawak Campus organised a special programme for orphans as part of their efforts to foster community engagement and provide support to those in need at the Sarawak Orphans Welfare Board (Peryatim) recently.

Some 40 orphans were treated to various activities throughout the day, including participating in a community clean-up within the Peryatim compound.
The university’s intention in organising such programme is to inspire its students, staff, and the wider community to contribute to the creation of a more inclusive and caring society.
Zahorin John Weyne, who represents the Peryatim chairman, thanked everyone involved in making the programme a success.
Furthermore, the university provided ‘angpau’ as well as meals and snacks for the orphans during the programme.
