MUKAH: A 53-year-old man died on the spot after his van went out of control and crashed into a ditch at Jalan Mukah-Selangau last Saturday (Oct 23).
Police confirmed that the incident happened around 7pm when the victim, identified as Lapok Lenggong, was driving his van to Mukah from Selangau.
The crash caused the victim to suffer severe neck injuries. He was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the Selangau Health Clinic.
Firemen from the Selangau station rushed to the scene to help extricate the body of the victim which was jutting out from the driver side window.
The body was brought to the Mukah Hospital for post mortem.
The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
