BINTULU: A vehicle was destroyed in a fire at the Islamic Cemetery in Kampung Kemunting here early this morning.
No casualties reported in the incident.
The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) said it received a distress call at 7.57am on the incident.
A team from the Bintulu Fire and Rescue Station (BBP Bintulu) was dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, firefighters found a Toyota Hiace completely burnt at the engine compartment.
However, no firefighting operation was required as the blaze had already been extinguished by members of the public with fire extinguishers before the fire brigade arrived.
Firefighters conducted safety checks and gathered information at the scene to ensure the situation was fully under control at 8am.
