KUCHING: A pharmacist sustained minor injuries on her elbow after she fell when her handbag was snatched at 9.15 pm on Thursday.
The victim from Sibu was with her husband walking to a supermall at Jalan Gambier when a pedestrain clad in a white shirt and black pants grabbed her handbag.
She said the youth aged about 20 years old grabbed her handbag from the back. Her husband tried to chase him but failed. The victim said she did not lose any valuable item but reported to let others be aware of snatch thieves.
In another incident, one HR management personnel from a supermall at Jalan Song lodged a report that two employees from a department store had been dismissed after the two had caused a ruckus in the supermall.
The HR from Jalan Datuk Ajibah Abol aged 26 lodged a police report on Wednesday as he feared that the duo would cause problem to him in future.
And at 1am yesterday police who were on duty patrolling Santubong saw a man in the middle of the road at Sultan Tengah causing nuisance to road users.
The man, a foreigner, aged 36, was trying to stop vehicles passing by.
Police then called for more backup and tried to stop him. Instead he was aggressive towards them and after more police arrived, they arrested the man who refused to co-operate and was acting irrationally.
He was then restrained and brought to Gita police station. The suspect behaved aggressively and said he wanted to see the Chief Minister and Prime Minister to complain.
He was detained for further investigation.
