KUCHING: Kampung Segedup residents here are ecstatic to be able to receive their Covid-19 vaccine just a stone’s throw away from their houses.
The two-day Segedup vaccination outreach programme at Kampung Segedup’s Haji Kamarudin Ahmad Hall, which started last Saturday, has provided much convenience for nearby residents to get inoculated.
Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Satok branch deputy chairman Datuk Ibrahim Baki has also paid a visit to the PPV to see the process of the vaccination on Sunday (July 11).
Kampung Segedup’s vaccination centre (PPV) project manager Mildred Voon said the vaccination is carried out by Batu Kawa Health Clinic.
About 700 people have been targeted to be inoculated for the two-day vaccination programme, with 226 people vaccinated last Saturday.
Here are what the vaccinees of Kampung Segedup had to say.

Muhd Hakeen Mohd Asri, 19
I was a bit nervous but also grateful that I received my first dose. Now, I feel more safe and protected against Covid-19. Therefore, I want to say thank you to the government of Sarawak and Malaysia for initiating this vaccination programme for us here.

Hasnah @ Ayang Edi, 48
I am truly glad that I have finally gotten the vaccine shots. Thank you to those involved in bringing the vaccine to us. It is more convenient for us to get the vaccine as it is near to our houses. Hopefully, with all of us being vaccinated, we will be out of danger from Covid-19.

Mohd Ashref Sallah, 43
The vaccination programme is very good. It is very convenient as the vaccination centre is located near our houses, especially for those who do not have any transport or the elderly who could not move around. Overall, I am very satisfied with the vaccination programme.

Rajenah Salleh, 59
We are thankful that the vaccination programme is held here. When I heard that I will be receiving my first dose here, I was so happy not only for me but also my other four children.
