MIRI: A delegation from JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak recently paid a courtesy visit to the Mayor of Miri, Adam Yii, to discuss youth leadership, community development, and potential collaborative efforts to enhance the well-being of Sarawak’s communities.
The delegation was led by JCI Malaysia’s National executive vice president and Area Sarawak chairman, Tan Chin Jie, alongside Area secretary Michelle Toh, Area Business and Entrepreneurial Development director Jarone Choo, and Area Growth and Development director Glina Chai.
During the meeting, Tan presented the 2025 Area Sarawak Plan of Action, outlining initiatives aimed at empowering young, active citizens through leadership development, entrepreneurship, and community service.
He also highlighted the organisation’s ongoing efforts to drive positive change and contribute to sustainable growth in the region.
Yii commended JCI Malaysia for its dedication to fostering youth empowerment and promoting civic engagement. He expressed his support for stronger collaboration between local authorities and youth organisations, emphasising their shared role in shaping a progressive and inclusive society.
JCI Malaysia Area Sarawak reiterated its commitment to spearheading impactful projects that benefit local communities and reinforce partnerships with government bodies.
