SIBU: Junior Chamber International (JCI) Sibu in collaboration with Dudong Service Centre and Cohesion Prima Sdn Bhd will be organising the Visit Malaysia 2026 Colouring Competition as one of the main highlights of the Sibu Countdown 2025: Towards 2026 – Explore Sibu, Taste Malaysia programme.

To be held on Dec 28 at the Azman Hashim Stadium, Sibu Jaya, the competition will begin with registration at 5 pm, which is open to children aged 4 to 12, with a participation fee of RM10 per person.

According to the organisers, this competition is being organised to support the aspirations of Visit Malaysia 2026 (VM2026) and aims to instil interest, creativity and self-confidence among children from a young age.

“This competition not only provides a space for children to express their creativity, but also serves as an initial platform to introduce the spirit of patriotism and local tourism in line with the VM2026 campaign,” according to a statement on Sunday.

The competition is divided into three age categories, namely Category A (4 to 6 years old), Category B (7 to 9 years old) and Category C (10 to 12 years old), with each category limited to 100 participants only.

For Categories B and C, cash prizes are offered to the first to fourth place winners of RM200, RM100, RM80 and RM50 respectively, in addition to 30 outstanding prizes and 30 consolation prizes.

Meanwhile, Category A offers cash prizes of RM100, RM80, RM50 and RM30 for the first to fourth places, also accompanied by 30 outstanding prizes and 30 consolation prizes.

The organisers hoped that the competition will attract participation from families and the local community and further enliven the Sibu Countdown 2025 atmosphere, while supporting efforts to make Sibu a family-friendly and community-based tourist destination by 2026.

For those interested in participating in the competition, please contact the activity coordinator, Wong Hie Ling at 010-7773635 or Esther Wong (010-7688993).
