KUCHING: Deputy Premier, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, recently received a courtesy visit from the chairman of FGV Holdings Berhad, Tan Sri Rastam Mohd Isa, along with a delegation from the company.
The visit, held at Wisma Sumber Alam, here aimed to discuss the company’s operations and future direction in the palm oil plantation, logistics, and other sectors within the state.
During the meeting, Rastam provided an overview of FGV’s operations in Sarawak, which include plantations and palm oil mills in Lundu and Miri.
Additionally, the company expressed interest in the palm oil storage industry at Port Tanjung Manis, Sibu, through strategic collaboration with local business partners.
He also emphasised FGV’s commitment to supporting Sarawak’s economic growth, particularly in the plantation sector and related infrastructure.
Meanwhile, Awang Tengah welcomed the visit and reaffirmed the state government’s support for FGV’s efforts to expand its operations in Sarawak.
The courtesy visit concluded with discussions on potential future collaborations between FGV and the Sarawak state government to strengthen the plantation sector and promote sustainable economic development.
