KUCHING: All eyes were on Viviana Lin Winston, 26, as she brought the stage to life at the 2025 Miss Grand International national costume showcase, captivating the crowd with her majestic “Queen of Terabai Iban” ensemble.
Grace, strength and culture collided as Viviana embodied the essence of an Iban warrior queen — regal yet fierce, elegant yet commanding.
The Kuching-born lass’ elaborate costume, inspired by the terabai (Iban shield), celebrated the Indu Ketua, the female leader who stands as both protector and pillar of her people.
From the ornate headdress to the intricate beadwork, every detail spoke of heritage, pride and empowerment, a visual love letter to Sarawak’s rich cultural roots.
The Sarawakian’s stunning performance has since set social media abuzz, with fans rallying behind her in two ongoing voting rounds.
The voting poll for the Top 20 Best National Costume is now open on the Miss Grand International Facebook page, where one heart reaction counts as 10 points and one share as five. (Only followers’ votes will be counted.) Voting closes Oct 15 at 10.00pm (Malaysian time).
Meanwhile, in the Country’s Power of the Year (Round 2) contest, Group B is now open — featuring Miss Grand Malaysia alongside Thailand, Peru, ColombiaandBrazil. Only the top two contestantswith the highest votes will advance to the Top 8, with voting ending Oct 15 at 12.59am (Malaysian time).
The 2025 Miss Grand International pageant takes place in Bangkok, Thailand and will conclude on Oct 18.
