KUCHING: Cape Verde World Cup hero Vozinha is reportedly set to join Chilean giants Colo Colo after reaching an agreement with the club.
Renowned football transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano reported on Saturday (July 25) that the veteran goalkeeper is expected to travel to Chile early next week to complete the move before being officially unveiled.
The reported move comes after Vozinha emerged as one of the standout goalkeepers at the FIFA World Cup 2026, where he inspired Cape Verde to a historic run to the Round of 32 and earned widespread praise for a string of commanding performances.
His displays, including a player-of-the-match performance in Cape Verde’s goalless draw against eventual champions Spain during the group stage, elevated the 40-year-old into one of the tournament’s surprise stars despite the African nation’s elimination to Argentina in the knockout stage.
A move to Colo Colo would see Vozinha continue his career at one of South America’s most decorated clubs while ending weeks of speculation over his future.
The transfer also appears to rule out a move to Major League Soccer (MLS) side Inter Miami, which had been linked with the Cape Verde international following his World Cup exploits.
Neither Colo Colo nor Vozinha has officially announced the transfer as to date.
