MIRI: Three waitresses of an entertainment outlet here were detained by the police yesterday (Apr 17) for suspected drug trafficking.

Miri OCPD ACP Alexson Naga Chabu said the suspects aged 28, 32 and 53 years were picked up by a team of officers from the Sarawak Narcotics Criminal Investigations Department (NCID) during a raid at 4 pm.

“Following checks five plastic packets containing ecstasy powder weighing 237.20 grams, 22 transparent plastic packets containing ecstasy pills weighing 14.2 grams and  four transparent plastic packets containing white powder suspected to be ketamine weighing 3.0 grams were found on them,” he said in a statement.

The confiscated items were worth RM13,020. The three suspects are currently being remanded.

The case is investigated under Section 39B of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
