KUCHING: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar and his wife Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, attended a Tahlil ceremony for the late Puan Sri Datuk Amar Juma’ani Tuanku Bujang, wife of Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Dr Abang Abdul Rahman Johari Tun Openg here on Monday night.
The ceremony took place at the Premier’s official residence and was also attended by close family members, government leaders and other dignitaries.
Wan Junaidi and Fauziah who arrived at 6.40 pm were received by Deputy Minister in the Premier’s Department (Integrity and Ombudsman), Datuk Dr Juanda Jaya and his wife Datin Shanti; Deputy Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development Sarawak, Datuk Dr Annuar Rapaee; and Special Administrative Officer to the Premier, Wan Mazehi Tuanku Akil.
The evening commenced with congregational Maghrib prayers, followed by the recitation of Surah Yasin and Tahlil prayers.
The event concluded with Isyak prayers, led by Sarawak’s Grand Imam, Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi.
Among those present were Speaker of the State Legislative Assembly, Tan Sri Datuk Amar Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar and his wife; SEDC Chairman Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Datuk Husain; Chairman of UNIMAS and the Sarawak Sovereign Wealth Fund, Tan Sri Datuk Seri Panglima Sulong Matjeraie; Sarawak State Mufti Datuk Kipli Yassin; and State Attorney-General Datuk Seri Saferi Ali.
Also in attendance were Chief Political Secretary to the Premier, Datuk Fazzruddin Abdul Rahman; members of the State Legislative Assembly; and senior officials from both state and federal agencies, including LAKMNS CEO Datuk Abang Abdul Wahap Abang Julai, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of International Trade, Industry and Investment Dzulkornain Masron, Lands and Surveys Department Director Awang Zamhari Awang Mahmood, and UNIONS Director Wan Mohamad Wan Drahman.
Political secretaries, community leaders, and local village heads from Petra Jaya were also present.
Wan Junaidi and Fauziah who conveyed their heartfelt condolences and prayers expressed hope that the Premier remains steadfast and patient in the face of his loss.
