SADONG JAYA: Head of State, Tun Pehin Sri Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar, visited the grave of his late father, Tuanku Jaafar Tuanku Sham, at the Kampung Sadong Jaya Islamic Cemetery here today.

He was accompanied by his wife, Toh Puan Datuk Patinggi Fauziah Mohd Sanusi, along with family members during the visit held in the morning.

Upon arrival, the couple was received by several dignitaries, including Sadong Jaya assemblyman, Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo; Batang Sadong Member of Parliament, Rodiyah Sapiee; and Samarahan Division Resident, Mohamad Irwan Bahari Bujang, as well as other community leaders.

Also present were Wan Junaidi’s relatives and close acquaintances, including his cousin, Wan Mahdi Wan Mohbar, in addition to friends from his school days in Simunjan.

A brief tahlil recital was conducted at the gravesite, led by Sarawak State Chief Imam, Ustaz Datuk Mustapha Kamal Ahmad Fauzi, and joined by family members.

Following the visit, Wan Junaidi and his wife were briefed on a proposed upgrade to the Kampung Sadong Jaya Islamic Cemetery by representatives from the Public Works Department (PWD) and the Sarawak Islamic Affairs Office.

He expressed appreciation for the warm reception and said he was grateful for the opportunity to visit his father’s grave, especially towards the end of the holy month of Ramadan with his family.
