Wan Sufian appointed MUDeNR deputy secretary

KUCHING: Wan Sufian Wan Mustapha has been appointed as the new Deputy Permanent Secretary of the Natural Resources and Urban Development Ministry (MUDeNR), succeeding Hairani Mohamad Ismail.

The handover ceremony was held at Wisma Sumber Alam on Monday (Mar 9) and witnessed by Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan, who is also the Second MUDeNR Minister.

During the event, Awang Tengah expressed his gratitude for Hairani’s contributions and dedicated service throughout her tenure at the ministry.

Hairani began her career with MUDeNR on Jan 14, 2019, in the Urban Development Division. She later headed the Administration, Management Services and Finance Division, before being appointed Deputy Permanent Secretary on July 3, 2023.

From March 9, 2026, Hairani will continue her public service as Executive Secretary at the State Executive Council Office (MMKN).

The ceremony also marked the handover of duties from Wan Sufian to Sri Ratna Dewi Junaidi Sapawi, who is now the head of the Town and Country Planning Division.

Other officials present included Urban Planning, Land Administration and Environment Deputy Minister Datuk Len Talif Salleh.
